Inspections
By statute and rule, the DPS Precursor Chemical Laboratory Apparatus (PCLA) Program is responsible for regulating some precursor chemical laboratory apparatus.
Chemical Precursor
Means:
| Anthrancilic acid | Methylamine |
| Barbituric acid | N-acetylanthranilic acid |
| D-lysergic acid | Norpseudoephendrine |
| Diethyl malonate | Phenylacetic acid |
| Ephedrine | Phenylpropanolamine |
| Ergotamine tartrate | Piperdine |
| Ethyl malonate | Pseudoephedrine |
| Hypophosphorous acid (by rule, TAC) | Pyrrolidine |
| Malonic acid | Red phosphorus (by rule, TAC) |
Chemical Laboratory Apparatus
Is defined as any item of equipment designed, made or adapted to manufacture a controlled substance or a controlled substance analogue, including:
| an adapter tube | a heating mantel |
| a condenser | a round-bottom, Florence, thermometer or filtering flask |
| a distilling apparatus | a Soxhlet extractor |
| an encapsulating machine | a tableting machine |
| an Erlenmeyer, two-neck or single-neck flask | a three-neck or distilling flask |
| a filter, Buchner or separatory funnel | a transformer |
| a flask heater | a vacuum dryer |
