Why is TxDPS offering this training?
In 2022, TxDPS received a Targeted Violence and Terrorism Prevention grant from the Department of Homeland Security to provide in-person TVTP training to community members in Austin. This training aims to enhance community understanding of pathways to violence, indicators, and reporting mechanisms.
How much does this training cost?
Training is free to all authorized and vetted attendees.
How long is the training?
Training will take approximately four hours.
Do I need to bring anything to the training?
No, trainers will provide any required supplies.
Can I attend the training virtually?
Currently, the training is only available in person.
Who should attend this training?
We encourage security or leadership representatives from the business sector, faith-based organizations, community organizations, nonprofits, schools and academia, and local and regional public sector in the greater Austin area to attend.
Can I attend training if I’m outside of the greater Austin area?
Training is currently only available to community members in the greater Austin area.
Where will the training be held?
Trainings are held across the greater Austin area. Please check the registration link for your sector for more details.
