Phillip ANTHONY, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on December 2, 2022, in Houston, Texas. Working off investigative information, members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender’s Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents, located and arrested ANTHONY at a residence.In 1989, ANTHONY was convicted of Indecency with a Child by Contact after an incident involving a 14-year-old girl. In 1995, he was convicted of Sexual Assault of a Child and Possession of a Controlled Substance, for which he received two 4-year sentences to be served concurrently in TDCJ. In 2012, he was convicted of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon and sentenced to two years of confinement.ANTHONY had been wanted since August 23, 2021, after the Refugio County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest for Possession of Marijuana. Additionally, on February 2, 2022, the Nueces County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.ANTHONY’s arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
