CAPTURE DETAILS:

Royneco HARRIS, affiliated with the 65 Groveside gang, was captured on March 23, 2022. Working off investigative information, DPS Special Agents assigned to the North Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Center, along with DPS Highway Patrol, Dallas Police Department, and members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested HARRIS in Dallas, Texas.In 2011, HARRIS was arrested for a probation violation for the Federal felony offense of Felon in Possession of a Firearm and Aiding and Abetting. In 2015 and 2018, HARRIS was convicted of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon.In March 2019, HARRIS shot and killed a 33-year-old man and injured the victim's 8-year-old son, leading to his arrest for Murder and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He subsequently bonded out. On October 21, 2021, during his trial on these charges, HARRIS removed his GPS monitoring device from his leg without authorization and absconded. The Dallas County SO then issued warrants for his arrest. The trial continued in HARRIS’ absence and he was convicted the following day, receiving a 99-year sentence and a 60-year sentence.HARRIS' arrest was not from tip information received through Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
