CAPTURE DETAILS:
James Mark BISHOP, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, was captured on March 28, 2022, at a rural location east of Medford, Oregon. Members of the USMS Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force located and arrested BISHOP with the coordination of the USMS North Texas Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents. In 2007, BISHOP was working as a Texas County sheriff's deputy in Oklahoma when he was arrested and subsequently convicted of five counts of Knowingly Downloading Child Pornography. He served time in prison until his release in 2011, at which time he was placed on probation and moved to Tulia, TX. In 2020, BISHOP was arrested in Tulia for Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact after alleged incidents involving a 12-year-old girl. He bonded out and eventually absconded. On July 7, 2021, the Texas County SO in Oklahoma issued Motion to Revoke warrants regarding his probation for the five counts of Knowingly Downloading Child Pornography. Additionally, on July 28, 2021, the Tulia PD issued two felony warrants for BISHOP's arrest for Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child and Indecency with a Child. The arrest was not the result of tip information received through Crime Stoppers.
