Rodolfo "Rudy" Ortiz GONZALEZ, affiliated with the Texas Syndicate gang, was captured on September 6, 2019, in Lubbock, Texas.Working off tip information, members of the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents, located and arrested GONZALEZ at a local motel in Lubbock.GONZALEZ is a violent offender with a history of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and burglary charges.In the late 1980s, GONZALEZ was convicted in Hale County of Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. He subsequently was sentenced to 35 years in TDCJ prison.GONZALEZ was released on parole from TDCJ in 2012. In November 2014, he was arrested in Lubbock for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and later convicted of Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury.GONZALEZ had been wanted since February 2019, after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a warrant for GONZALEZ’s arrest for Parole Violation (Original Offense: Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon).The arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward was paid.
