Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse (DACH)

February 2, 2024

Overview

The Federal Motor Carrier Administration (FMCSA) had implemented the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse (DACH) program. This secure online database provides real-time access to information regarding violations of the U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) controlled substances and alcohol testing program for CDL holders.  Effective June 30, 2024, the State of Texas will be required to:

  • Check the DACH database to see if an individual is prohibited or not before issuing a CLP/CDL.
  • Deny commercial driving privileges when an individual is subject to a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) driving prohibitions.
  • When notified by FMCSA, remove commercial driving privileges until the return-to-duty (RTD) process is completed as mandated by the FMCSA.
