The Incident Based Reporting Bureau (IBR) within the Texas Department of Public Safety is dedicated to enhancing public safety through the collection, analysis, and dissemination of critical law enforcement data. IBR oversees key programs including the Uniform Crime Reporting, National Data Exchange (NDEx), Texas Use of Force (UoF), Law Enforcement Enterprise Portal access (LEEP), and Molly Jane’s Law / ViCAP. These programs enable Texas law enforcement agencies to collaborate effectively, access nationwide criminal databases, and contribute to a unified approach to crime reporting and analysis. Through these efforts, IBR plays a vital role in supporting data-driven decision-making and ensuring a safer Texas.
