County Data Reporting Improvement Plans

August 27, 2020

The 81st Legislative Session passed HB 2730 which added Section 60.10 to the Code of Criminal Procedure (CCP). This section required a county that had an average criminal disposition completeness percentage (in the 2009 DPS Reporting Examining Reporting Compliance to the Texas Computerized Criminal History System) including both juvenile and adult dispositions of less than 90 percent, to create a data reporting improvement plan. The statute required the Commissioners Court of such a county to establish a Local Data Advisory Board, as described by state law, not later than November 1, 2009. The bill set forth the persons authorized and required to be included in such a Local Data Advisory Board. The Section expired on September 1, 2013 though counties can still utilize Local Data Advisory Boards per Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 66.354.
