Kudos to Ms. Hamilton for her extraordinary efforts in helping my son get his permit! The DPS website did not state that the instructor (in this case, me) needed to have had a TX license for three years or otherwise needed to have a printed driver record from the previous state. My family just moved last year, so my TX license is less than a year old. Since I had already surrendered my last license issued in Tennessee, I no longer had my license number, which was a requirement for obtaining the driving record online. Ms. Hamilton not only managed to find my old license number for me, she also recommended that I try going to a local library a few minutes away from the Grand Prairie driver license station location to print out the record. Well, it was a genius suggestion! Thanks to her help, we were able to get the permit the same day, saving me an hour-long roundtrip return on a future day. She is a superstar!!
