Hillsboro DLO

September 3, 2021

I made an appointment at the Hillsboro DPS to get a first time Texas driver license. I came in on a Friday and had everything I needed except for a second proof of residency document. I sat to the side and changed my auto insurance online to my new address and when I finished and printed the insurance card, the effective date was the next day, so I had to come back the next business day. When I came back, it took maybe five minutes to complete the process and I was on my way. Both days while I was there, the seats in the hallway were all taken so I sat in a chair in the room with the counters. Both reps were as polite as can be and straight forward with everyone on what they can and cannot accept. They both shared things with the other to ask their opinions on a document, I was very impressed. I’ve been around a long time and I’ve lived in six different states in my lifetime and I have never once had a pleasant experience at the DPS/DMV until I went to the Hillsboro office to get my license. In my past experiences in other states I was typically greeted with counter personnel who barely made eye contact and would talk at you like they’re robots. I worked with both women at the Hillsboro DPS, Debbie V finished the process and the other woman started it for me the day prior. I was impressed with both ladies and I’d like to thank you for making the process friendly. I’ve lived in Texas now for three months now and so far, most everyone is so kind and friendly and these two women are the same. I believe I’m home for good. I’m loving Texas!
