I showed up at the Denton office at 4:30 am to wait in line for a new license. I know due to covid how backed up things are. I know everyone is rushed and trying to help as many people as possible. After finally receiving a number, waiting in line, talking with an agent at the counter, and sitting back down to wait, I was greeted and called over by a worker named Harriet. What a relief! Her smile and kindness brought down all my anxiety and I was finally at ease. She is very professional and informative. She treated me like an equal human rather than just a number. I appreciated this so much. Kindness goes a long way. I was almost brought to tears at the change I felt with her. She really was like an angel to me. Harriet, if you ever get to read this email and it gets back to you, please know that you made my day. I’m especially sensitive right now since I’m four months pregnant with my first baby, so it touched me in so many ways that you treated me so sweet, patient, gentle, fun, vibrant and timely. Please don’t lose your spark because you don’t even know what a difference you make to people and what they may be going through or what kind of struggles they’re facing. Keep being you and passing that kindness along. It goes a long way! And I wish everyone in that office would take your lead. So again, a special and sincere Thank you Harriet! You rock!
