Our family would like to express our gratitude formally and sincerely for the remarkable efforts of Trooper Rogers. He brought a new level of respect, dignity, and humanity to the most difficult task of informing a family of the death of a husband, dad, granddad, and brother in a fatal one car accident. Not only did the two troopers wait for me and my husband prior to breaking the news, he delivered the message in a most compassionate loving manner possible. They both are heroes in our eyes. Then he made an appointment to meet with the family to walk through the scenario of how it happened. Trooper Rogers answered our questions as they came to us no matter what else he was tasked to get done that day. Honestly, his actions, words and even body language felt as if he was a family. His actions were above and beyond what we could imagine could be done in this most difficult time of life. A true hero in this world filled with so much hate and lack of compassion was so comforting. This trooper never rushed but made our family feel our loss and our grief were just as important to him as it was to us.
