Charlotte Acton

Ms. Charlotte was a rock star with my family. Most of my experiences at the DPS in my 51 years have been bad to awful for a variety of reasons. The wait is too long, the paperwork required is too extensive and people who work there seem to have no empathy or concern for either. Unfortunately a trip to the DPS for whatever reason feels like a visit to the dentist for a root canal. Charlotte is the first employee at the DPS in my 51 years on the planet to exhibit real empathy for her fellow human beings while demonstrating a professional can-do attitude to solve potential problems. I'm not talking about taking short cuts, I'm talking about the initiative to solve problems and actually get things done with a pleasant demeanor. I will never forget her and neither will my children who were getting their driver permits on that day. She deserves recognition and should be the standard bearer for how DPS employers should be trained. I understand that the duties of the employees are sometimes boring and mundane, but a genuine understanding of what their clients are going through to cross T's and dot I's is very much appreciated. Charlotte should be training others, but at the very least deserves a gold star for her work ethic and professionalism.
