I’m writing to commend Trooper Juan Tovar for helping me after a friend and I ran out of gas on June 30th. I decided that I would call Madison County Sheriff. When the dispatcher answered, I explained to her that I was a retired police officer and we had run out of gas. I asked if she had any deputies that could help. She told me they were all tied up on a call, but she could see if a Trooper was available...and he was! When Trooper Tovar arrived, I showed him my retired Police I.D. and my driver’s license. He was more than happy to help us. We went and got a gas can and gas, then got back to our vehicle. During the whole ordeal, Trooper Tovar was very professional and respectful to us. I was very impressed with his demeanor and the way he carried himself. Texas DPS, in my opinion, the best of the best. Trooper Tovar went above and beyond to help us, and I truly appreciate this.
