While I was driving home to Dallas, I had a flat tire. The response from everyone was that they could not assist me. The temperature was near 100 degrees and I was surrounded by open land and cattle and starting to panic that I would be alone in this unsafe area overnight. Officer Owens noticed I was on the side of the road with my flashers on and came to my assistance. He located a towing company and waited until the driver arrived. The towing company delivered my car to a tire shop in New Boston and took me to a safe hotel for the night. In these very challenging times, when first responders are attending to so many people in need, today Officer Owens demonstrated genuine care toward a fellow Texan and exemplified the DPS motto of “Courtesy, Service, and Protection." Please extend my gratitude and appreciation to Officer Owens.
