I was driving from Houston to Corpus. Just before midnight I was stopped by a DPS trooper outside of Victoria. Apparently one of my headlights had just burned out. Given my profession, I am somewhat familiar with what law enforcement can and can't do during a traffic stop. The Trooper that stopped me did not know my profession, was extremely polite, professional and if I could give grades for his performance it would be an A+. In light of the current negative publicity being heaped on law enforcement officers, I believe it’s appropriate to compliment those whose actions deserve compliments and his was one of those actions.
