AUSTIN – Today, the Public Safety Commission (PSC) formally created a selection committee to assist in the process of naming a new Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Director. Members of the PSC, including Chairman Steven P. Mach, Nelda L. Blair, Dan Hord III, Larry Long and Steve Stodghill all took part in the meeting, which took place at DPS Headquarters in Austin.

AUSTIN – Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Robert Gonzales is this month’s Featured Fugitive. The reward for information leading to his arrest is increased to $4,000 for the month if the tip is received in September.

DEL RIO – Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers working Operation Lone Star recently discovered 17 illegal immigrants being smuggled inside a hidden compartment in a cloned home improvement store delivery truck during a traffic stop in Kinney County.

Authorities arrested Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Dewarren Knowles on Aug. 17 and Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender Antioneo Sims on Aug. 27. A Crime Stoppers reward will be paid in Sims’ arrest.
