DPS Reminder: DL Expiration Waiver Ends in April

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is reminding the public the waiver on expiration dates for driver licenses (DLs) and identification cards (IDs) ends on April 14, 2021. Customers who need to renew are urged to make an appointment or renew online today.

DPS Make Arrests for On-line Solicitation

EL PASO – On January 14-15, 2021, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), in conjunction with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), conducted an on-line solicitation operation in El Paso, Texas. The goal of the operation was to identify and apprehend people suspected of being involved in human trafficking by using various websites to solicit sexual acts from minors and adults.

Kleberg County Arrest

On Tuesday, January 12, 2021 the Texas Rangers arrested Andrew Smith on a charge of Indecency with a Child. Smith, who was about to be suspended, resigned from his position with DPS earlier that day.
