Upon the report of a qualifying missing persons incident, law enforcement has the option of contacting available regional alerting networks, in addition to the state's network. A regional network is a group of organized public alerting resources contained within multiple counties. The below are examples of possible regional network partners:
- Local TV & Radio;
- Public Transportation Drivers;
- Towing Companies;
- Gas Stations;
- Convenience Stores;
- Social Media;
- Law Enforcement;
- Schools;
- Hospitals; and
- Trucking Companies.
Because each regional network has their own autonomy apart from the state's network, law enforcement must submit a separate request to activate appropriate regional and/or state networks. Alert criteria, request procedures, resources and available alert types (Silver, Blue etc.) could differ. Regional alert networks are not available in all Texas counties.
