I want to send a special THANK YOU! to everyone who played a part in making this happen. Door access may seem like a small convenience, but when you have heavy doors with defective hydraulic closers, key entry can be cumbersome. Especially when your hands are full, and our hands are almost always full as we come and go. Our office personnel and Rangers are all laughing and bragging to everyone who comes into the building about the new entry systems. The security installation team also fixed doors that would slam shut due to defective hydraulics. Now, instead of hearing a slam that was the equivalent of a gunshot every time the doors closed, they quietly settle closed. This is a considerable relief to the noise and nerves of this office. We pride ourselves on being open to all divisions and Ranger Companies to stop off on long journeys north/south. We also promote the use of the Education Center as an excellent alternative training venue out of the bustle of busy Austin. The addition of key-card entry only expands our ability to be good hosts to DPS personnel and training events without the hassle of providing spare keys. It's amazing to me to see how something like the addition of key-card entry can have such a huge impact on office morale. So very much appreciative of everyone for working on getting this project completed.
