On April 23, 2021 Trooper Christopher Romo and his team consisting of Troopers James Wheeler, Dakota Tidwell and Jonathon Lafrenz responded to a vehicle accident that I was involved in on I-20 West. My truck had been hit in the rear and was no longer in a drivable condition which left my friend and I stranded approximately 5 hours from home. Trooper Romo and his team provided the most outstanding professional service that I have experienced with law enforcement in my life. They answered every question we had in a very professional and understanding manner. Additionally, they treated us as human beings that they cared about rather than just individuals in a vehicle accident. Specifically, Trooper Romo ensured that we were taken care of by even following up with us later that night to make sure that we had everything we needed, as he knew our circumstance. I continued to make remarks to my friend throughout the night, “Man, those guys really took care of us tonight”. I wanted to make sure that DPS knew just how remarkable these gentlemen really are. I cannot express just how much I appreciate them during that event, God bless you all.
