I would like to commend Trooper Chance Commander for his assistance between Henderson and Carthage. The tread came off our vehicle, while waiting for roadside assistance, Trooper Commander came by wanting to know if we where in need of help. I mentioned we had called for assistance but they had not arrived. He stayed with us using his emergency lighting to warn oncoming traffic. After about thirty minutes, Trooper Commander asked if we had a spare tire and I replied yes. He stated he would change the tire for us. In the process, rain came and the spare tire was installed and found to be off air pressure. He called a nearby home owner and asked if he had an air compressor, the answer was yes. Trooper Commander lead us to the residence, pressured the tire and Trooper Commander stayed with us until we got back on the road. We believe this act of kindness was beyond the call of duty.
