Trooper James McCoy

December 1, 2020

On March 23, 2020 on SH 290 Eastbound 5 miles west of Giddings, officer McCoy saw my family with a failed vehicle on the side of the road. He stopped and helped us and stayed with us for as long as necessary. My phone was inexplicably not working as well, so he let me use his phone to call for assistance. Just having him there calmed the situation and made recovery much simpler. He could have driven by, but he didn't. On that night, he was more than a public servant - he was our hero. Please pass along our thanks. He will not be forgotten by me and mine.
