Recently, my family and I had an interaction with Texas DPS Trooper W. Windham. This interaction took place on the morning of 7/3/20 in Palo Pinto County as we were travelling from our home in Arizona. My purpose in writing is simply to commend Trooper Windham for his professional and courteous demeanor throughout our contact. Recently, much has been made of poor relations between law enforcement and the public. Despite this, I would submit the vast majority of law-abiding Americans remain supportive of law enforcement officers of all varieties – and I would count my family among this group. Too often, it seems we only hear about incidents that fell below the expectations of the public. In this particular case, I merely wanted to make note of our experience with trooper Windham which was, in my estimation, a superb example of how a traffic stop should be conducted.
