AMARILLO – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 100 pounds of marijuana Saturday, Dec. 14, after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Oldham County.
At approximately 4:15 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2020 Jeep traveling east on I-40 near Vega, for a traffic violation. An Oldham County Sheriff’s Office Canine unit arrived on scene and alerted on the vehicle. The Trooper then discovered multiple vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana in the vehicle.
The driver and passenger, both from California, were arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance. The passenger was also charged with money laundering. Both were booked into the Oldham County Jail.
The drugs allegedly were being transported from Las Vegas, Nevada to an unknown destination.
