CARSON COUNTY – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) seized 31 pounds of suspected methamphetamine Wednesday after a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper stopped a vehicle in Carson County.
At approximately 12:50 p.m., a DPS Trooper stopped a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado traveling east on I-40 near Conway for a traffic violation. The Trooper then discovered multiple plastic-wrapped bundles of methamphetamine in the spare tire.
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Special Agents were contacted and assisted with the investigation. DEA Special Agents adopted the case
The driver, Gerardo Fonseca-Macias, 53, of Pixley, Calif., was arrested and booked into the Randall County Jail for felony possession of a controlled substance.
The drugs were reportedly being transported from Pixley, Calif., to an unknown destination in Kentucky.
