On the evening of July 19, 2005, the body of Valerie Laguna was discovered at a cemetery outside of Cotulla. Valerie had trauma to her head and a laceration near her neck area. Valerie was last seen in the early morning hours of July 19, 2005 at a residence in Cotulla. At the time of her murder, Valerie was 26 years of age and eight months pregnant.
