CAPTURE DETAILS:

Ruben CASTRO, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive affiliated with the Texas Mexican Mafia gang, was captured on February 15, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. The USMS Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents, located and arrested CASTRO at a hotel. In 2008, CASTRO was convicted of Possession of a Firearm after Domestic Abuse and subsequently sentenced to 80 months’ imprisonment and 36 months’ supervised release. In 2019, CASTRO was sentenced to three years' confinement in a TDCJ prison for Fraudulent Use/Poss. of Identifying Information; and additionally received probation for Poss. of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Poss. of a Firearm. He was released on parole in March 2021. CASTRO had been wanted since May 2021, after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a Parole Violation warrant for his arrest and the Bexar County SO issued a warrant for Aggravated Assault Causes Serious Bodily Injury. In addition, on September 15, 2021, the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant for his arrest for Probation Violation. CASTRO’s arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward was paid.
