CAPTURE DETAILS:

Brett James MARTINSON, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on June 19, 2021, in Magnolia, Texas. Working off tip information, the Texas Rangers, Magnolia PD, and members of the USMS Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force located and arrested MARTINSON at a residence in Magnolia.In 2004, MARTINSON was convicted of two counts of Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child following incidents that occurred with a 4-year-old boy. He received two 8-year sentences to be served concurrently in a TDCJ prison. In 2010, MARTINSON absconded from Texas and was arrested in Louisiana for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. He was returned to Texas and sentenced to 12 years' confinement in a TDCJ prison.MARTINSON had been wanted since August 2020, after the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles issued a Parole Violation warrant for his arrest. In January 2021, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office issued an additional warrant for his arrest for Aggregate Theft; and in February 2021, the Walker County Sheriff's Office issued a warrant for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. The arrest was the result of tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers and a reward was paid.
