CAPTURE DETAILS:

Julio Carlos MENDOZA, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender, was captured on May 10, 2024, in El Paso, Texas. Working off investigative information, members of the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force, including DPS Special Agents, located and arrested MENDOZA. The El Paso Police Department (EPPD) Sex Offender Registry Team assisted in the multi-agency fugitive investigation. In 2004, MENDOZA was convicted of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and subsequently sentenced to 3 years’ probation. In 2007, he was convicted again of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and subsequently sentenced to 2 years’ probation. In 2018, he was convicted of Driving While Intoxicated 3rd of More and subsequently sentenced to 3 years confinement. Additionally, in 2018, MENDOZA was convicted of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact following an incident with a 9-year-old girl. He was subsequently sentenced to 3 years confinement. MENDOZA had been wanted since April 24, 2024, after a warrant was issued by the El Paso Police Department for his arrest for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. MENDOZA’s arrest was not from tip information received through Texas Crime Stoppers, so no reward will be paid.
